Expert witness discovery is governed by Louisiana’s Code of Civil Procedure, article 1425. LA. STAT. ANN. § 1:1425 (2017). This rule allows discovery into the amount the expert is being compensated for its testimony if a party makes a motion to the court. Id. The court has allowed discovery into an expert’s financial records in order to show the expert’s bias. Rowe v. State Farm Mut. Auto. Ins. Co., 670 So.2d 718 (La. Ct. App. 1996).
