Errata Sheets in Tennessee are governed statutorily by Rule 30.05 of the Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure. Tenn. Code Ann. § 20-29-30 (West 2017). This rule requires that once the transcript is complete, it is to be submitted to the witness to read and examine unless both parties have mutually agreed to waive the reading and examination. Id. If the witness desires, he/she can make changes in form and/or substance to the transcript and attach a statement of reasons for the change(s) to the transcript. Id. The witness should also sign the deposition once changes are made unless the parties mutually agree to waive the signing or the witness is unable to sign. Id. Once the transcript is submitted to the witness, the witness has 30 days to read, examine, sign, and return the transcript to the deposition officer. Id. If the witness does not do this within 30 days, the deposition officer will sign it and the deposition will be considered fully signed. Id.
